Our experience day provides a unique, hands on opportunity to interact with our rescued and resident animals.
Your day will commence with a welcome chat over a cuppa, we will be discussing the plan of the day and explaining the programme and a briefing on health and safety. This is a one-to-one bespoke experience and you will not be sharing it with anyone else.
We start by visiting our coop where our rescued hens have been housed safely overnight. We will refuel the hen’s food, water and grit before collecting their eggs and cleaning the coop whilst they roam freely across the farm for the day. You will learn some interesting facts about our lovely ladies such as hens can remember up to 100 human faces!
Following this we will visit our friendly resident cows who will be ready for their breakfast and a stroke or two! Cows really do enjoy being fussed over and they do have feelings e.g. they feel pain and fear just like us humans. We will tell you some interesting facts about cows. In Hindu religion the cow is sacred. These amazing animals have 360-degree vision!
We will go onto feed the female llamas with their young crias (depending on the time of year.) You will learn amazing info about the females, the length of their pregnancy and some unusual llama facts!
We will have a comfort break and a cuppa and then go onto meeting the rest of our fabulous llamas. We will introduce you to all of them and you will be amazed how wonderful these majestic animals are. You will learn a few facts about the llamas and their native origins and why they captivated our hearts with their magical aura.
You will learn how to brush your llama and about our handling techniques which is beneficial and calming to both animal and human.
